NFL talkboard: week eight

Welcome back to the NFL talkboard. For those of  sterling silver jewelry you who have stumbled upon it for the first time, this is the new dedicated space on the sportblog where people can talk about American football.

Every Friday I will post my Pick Six and, if I have time, one or two talking points as well. The blog will then stay open over the weekend, allowing everyone - myself included - to keep chatting about the games as they happen and afterwards on Sunday and Monday.

The Jets were totally flummoxed by the Dolphins' Wildcat formation during a 31-27 defeat back in week five, and the prevailing thinking seems to be that their head coach Rex Ryan – formerly defensive co-ordinator of the Baltimore Ravens - is too smart to let that happen again. Shaquille O'Neal fails to kick-start

The Cleveland Cavaliers slumped to akoya pearl bracelet  their second defeat in as many games to start the new season as the Toronto Raptors held them at bay for a 101-91 victory.

Expectations in Cleveland have been inflated following the pre-season acquisition of Shaquille O'Neal from Phoenix but last year's beaten Eastern Conference finalists have so far failed to find fluency with the 37-year-old in the team.

The Eastern Conference champions

The Eastern Conference champions, the Orlando Magic, kicked off their campaign with a 120-106 rout of the Philadelphia 76ers. The Magic were prolific from beyond the three-point arc hitting 16 triples, with Ryan Anderson shooting four-of-seven in wholesale pearl earrings his 16 points.

The Denver Nuggets overcame the Utah Jazz 114-105 with their star duo Carmelo Anthony (30 points) and Chauncey Billups (26) leading their charge.

Phil Jackson warns NBA

The Los Angeles Lakers coach, Phil Jackson, has urged his players not to be emotionally distracted when they launch their NBA title defence today moments after  freshwater pearl jewelry receiving their championship rings.
